Year in Review
The McKay Family Foundation was incorporated on Dec. 18, 2022 with the stated mission of helping people build new lives in Canada.

· Increase Foundation assets from $4,975,431 to $5,292,852 thanks to capital appreciation and dividend income
· Make its first grants, to the Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation and Windmill Microlending

2023 Grantees
The Collingwood G&M Hospital Foundation invests in facilities, equipment, programs and services for the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Our grant of $50,000 was directed to training for emergencies through a program simulating crisis situations. With our support, ten programs were made available to medical staff of hospitals in Ontario.
Windmill Microlending is Canada’s only national charity providing affordable loans to help skilled immigrants and refugees pay for accreditation, training and career development. Our grant was split to provide $30,000 to counselling services and $30,000 to lending services.
Goals for 2024
· Build on existing relationships with charitable foundations
· Develop new relationships
· Encourage Windmill to submit a proposal for another grant this year
· Connect with the New Canadians Centre, which provides settlement services and direct assistance to new Canadians living in Peterborough and the surrounding area
· Maintain and enhance the MFF web site
· Disbursement quota for 2024 is about $240,000
